VULKAN Lokring shows solderfree tube connection system LOKRING® and trade gas leak detection system LOKTRACE at the Chillventa Rossija in Moscow (7 – 9 February).

The LOKRING® tube connection is an absolutely clean, permanent and purely mechanical connection with a permanent hermetic seal for all refrigeration technology requirements, as it is already well-established as a standard technology.  The areas of application for Lokring´s special refrigeration and climatic technology program include all installations of split systems or bond systems, such as air-conditioning systems (split, multi-split, VRF, HVAC), industrial and commercial refrigeration, heat pumps, solar thermal systems, geothermal energy systems. Compared to the conventional soldered tube connection, the totally clean, efficient and reliable LOKRING® connection delivers many clear advantages: It saves up to 40% of the installation or repair time and helps to avoid all solder-related quality problems. Moreover, it enables installation work to take place not only during business hours but also in areas where there is a fire hazard. The light hand assembly tool ensures easy handling and as a consequence installation can be carried out by non-skilled workers.

The leak detection system LOKTRACER, originally developed for industrial applications, has been perfectly adapted for use in service, and guarantees legally compliant, fast, reliable and easy leak detection. LOKTRACE gas, which is a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen, is filled into the air-conditioning system for leak detection. LOKTRACE gas is non-flammable, non-toxic, non-corrosive and not harmful to the environment.  The hydrogen is used as the trace gas. Hydrogen molecules are the smallest naturally occurring particles and escape even through floor screed, insulation, foaming materials. Due to its low viscosity and therefore high propagation speed the gas reaches the leak very fast and escapes even through the minimum hole. Since hydrogen is lighter than air, the hydrogen molecules rise and the pipes can easily be checked from above.
